  • Soda-acid and foam-type fire extinguishers should not be used to extinguish electrical fires.
  • Foam-type fire extinguishers are designed for Class A and Class B fires, which involve flammable liquids like gasoline, oil, and solvents.
  • For electrical fires, it is recommended to use a fire extinguisher specifically designed for such situations, such as a CO2 (carbon dioxide) fire extinguisher or a dry chemical fire extinguisher labelled as suitable for Class C fires.
